Donald Gene Jackson, Sr.

Age 70, of Portsmouth, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020, at his home. He was born July 23, 1949, Paintsville, Kentucky, son of the late Eugene and Pearl (Caudill) Jackson. Don was a 1967 graduate of Valley High School.  He married his late wife, Pamela (Frazier) Jackson, in 1968. Don worked as a Laborer for the Local 83 Union for 25 years. He also worked for and retired from Sunoco Petroleum Company after more than 20 years of service.

In his spare time, he enjoyed working on lawnmowers and could fix almost anything He enjoyed going to the flea market, tending to his garden, and spending time with family. The joy of his life was spending time with his great-grandchildren.

Don is survived by his only son, Donald Jackson, Jr., of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Alyx Jackson of Portsmouth, Morgan Jackson of Portsmouth; great-grandchildren, Trey Dodridge and Avery Dodridge of Portsmouth; brothers, Brad Jackson of Minford, Tim Jackson of Portsmouth, Ron (Sheila) Jackson of Minford, Carson (Kay) Jackson of Eastlake; sister, Glada (Bob) Neu of South Webster and many nieces, nephew and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pamela Jackson; grandson, Adam Jackson; brothers, Lynk Jackson, Joe Jackson, Rick Jackson; sisters, Vicki Jackson, Linda Shoemaker, Debbie Martin.

Memorial Services will be held at 7595 Gallia Pike, Franklin Furnace, Ohio 45629 from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020. Due to the national health advisories, we recommend the wearing of masks and appropriate social distancing.
