Donald Simpson

Age 90, of Portsmouth, went to meet the Lord Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at SOMC He was born December 13, 1916 in Portsmouth to the late George and Rozillah Martin Simpson He was a member of Cedar Street Church of Christ in Christian Union, of New Boston, retired from Empire Detroit Steel after 38 years, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Donald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Zona Green Simpson Also surviving are one daughter, Donna (Ralph) Henson, of Franklin, OH; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Lee) McGinnis, of Centerville, OH, Douglas (Patty) Henson, of Carlisle, OH, and Kathy Henson, of Georgetown, KY; six great-grandchildren, Savannah and Cara McGinnis, and Jeremy, Kyle, Blake , and Travis Henson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Novle Blaine Simpson, in 1970; four brothers, Frank, Algon, James, and Delbert Simpson; six sister, Marie Shonkwiler, Juanita Holsinger, Clara Newkirk, Druzillah Simpson, Louella Taulbee, and Nellie Mitchell.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace Friends may call Friday from 2 – 4:00 p.m. and 6 – 8:00 p.m. at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
