Deborah Jane Henson

Deborah Jane Henson, 60, of New Boston passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born in Canton, Ohio on April 26,1962 to the late Ezra and Lorraine (DePriest) Huffman. Deborah enjoyed playing the guitar, writing music and singing. She also loved to write poetry. Deborah enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Deborah is survived by a son, Shane DePriest of Portsmouth; a daughter, Staci Sowards of New Boston; a sister, Sara Jo Huffman of Marion, Indiana; a step-sister, Mildred Gaia of Portsmouth; a step-brother-in- law, Butch Schulte; three grandchildren, Jasomyn Frautschy, Jordan Huffman, and Trip DePriest; one great-grandchild, Creed Phillips. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas Blanton; a daughter Lena Huffman; and a step-sister, Debra Schulte.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
