David Lee Slark

David Lee Slark, 70, of Portsmouth passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at his home. He was born December 23, 1951 to the late Harold and Lucille (Hughes) Slark in Portsmouth. David proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force and was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He loved to fish and play the lottery. David was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. David is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Pearl (Neace) Slark; two sons, Danny Ray Slark of Olive Hill, KY and Timothy Wayne Slark of Portsmouth; two daughters, Dusty Michelle Adams of Jackson and Taylor Slark Brown and husband Wayne of Suffolk, VA; one brother, Harold Douglas Slark and wife Mary of Portsmouth; two sisters, Lola VanDyke of West Portsmouth and Sara Malone and husband Robert of Wheelersburg; nine grandchildren, Kathlyn Marie Slark, David Lee Slark II and wife Monica, Brianna Adams, Timothy Michael Wayne Slark, Marissa Leeann Slark, Danielle Renee Slark, Stephen Michael Adams Jr., Jacob Uriah Scurlock, and Danny Ray Slark Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, David Lee Slark III, Kaiden Parsons, Braxton Parsons, Justin Parsons, Mason Parsons, Jordan Adams, Osiah Scott, and Penelope Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday July 22, 2022 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston where friends may call Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be presented by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion at the funeral home.
