Cynthia Jean (Keener) Simon

Age 61 of New Boston, passed away December 27, 2016 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus She was born August 8, 1955 in Toledo, OH to Roy and Dorothy (Monday) Keener Cynthia worked for over 20 years as a Lab Technician for SOMC in Portsmouth She was recently saved and was of the Christian faith In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and loved to bake and cook with her grandchildren She was her grandchildren’s biggest fan and enjoyed spending time cheering them on at their games.

She is survived by two daughters, Lora (Ronnie) Simpson of West Portsmouth, Alison (Zeb) Logan of Lucasville; one brother, Royce (Monica) Keener of Toledo; one sister, Charlene (Ray) Brown of Sylvania; 12 grandchildren, Dylan (girlfriend Kiarra), Izaiah, Zoe-Hanna, Izabell, Kialan, Lex, Owen, Humble, Kala, Abe, and Emily In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 1988; one sister, Brenda Smith.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at D.W. Cynthia was an organ donor, giving the gift of life to many other people She requested that all who come to the service not come sad, but wear or bring something purple in celebration of her life.
