Clarence R. Stewart

Clarence R. Stewart, Jr. 75, of Portsmouth passed away at his home Sunday, April 30, 2023.  He was born to the late Clarence Richard Stewart, Sr. and Georgia Imogene (Bradley) Moffett on June 30, 1947 in Portsmouth.  Richard was a veteran of the United States Army.  He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.  Clarence cared for both of his parents until their passing.  He liked to ride motorcycles, listen to music, play video games and he loved to drive and travel across the country.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Mary Lois Stewart of Portsmouth; two sons, Roger Eugene Turner of Portsmouth, and Richard Ryan Stewart of Chillicothe; a daughter, Madelyn Shepherd and husband Alan of Portsmouth; a brother, Chris Stewart and wife Marilyn of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Military Honors will be provided at the memorial service by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion. Cremation services have been entrusted to D.W.
