Charles William Sanders, 55, of Franklin Furnace passed away Thursday at home after a long illness. He was born September 15, 1966 in Ironton, a son of the late David Sanders and Sarah Cremeans Horn. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, past Grand Master of Highland #38 Masonic Lodge and a 1984 graduate of Green High School. He loved to ride his Harley, go camping, hunt and was an avid TV watcher. Charles is survived by his wife, Michelle Douthat Sanders; two sons, Zac (Tori) Sanders of Paintsville, KY, and William Sanders of Greenfield; a daughter, Louci (Harold) Stevens of Cynthiana, KY and a stepdaughter Heather (Daniel) Bays of Columbus; two brothers, Earl (Dorothy) Sanders of Yorktown, VA and Chris Horn of Texas; sisters, Kimber (John) Ramski of Texas, Melinda Sanders of Columbus and seven grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Shane Bays. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Monday July 18, 2022 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be 2 to 4 PM prior to services. Private burial will take place at a later date.
