Charles "Buck" Gearheart

Charles "Buck" Gearheart, 61, of Bonser Run, Sciotoville, went home to be with the Lord on Wed., Feb. 11, 2009. He was born Jan. 29, 1948 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Herman and Doris Martin Gearheart. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, attended Bonser Run Christian Baptist Church, was a self taught Nature Photographer and avid metal detector. Buck is survived by three daughters, Mysti Stiltner and husband Carl of Portsmouth, Ami Weiler and husband Todd of Virginia Beach, VA. and Amanda Gill of Portsmouth; one brother, John Gearheart of Sciotoville; five sisters, Grace Campbell of Portsmouth, Judy Riggs of Minford, Pat Dinguss of Auburn Hills, Mich., Garnet Gearheart of Portsmouth, Marti Lemaster (Roger) of Portsmouth and 9 grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Butch Gearheart. Services will be 12 Noon Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Gordon Boggs officiating. Burial will be at Wheeler cemetery with military graveside rites by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday 6 to 9 PM and Monday 11 AM to 12 Noon at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
