Cathy Goddard Marshall, 60, breathed her final earthly breath at Riverside Hospital on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. In this moment, she was able to find peace, passing into her next life, meeting her long lost husband, parents, and sibling. Cathy was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on March 30, 1962. She lived most of her life right here in New Boston, Ohio, graduating in 1980. She was married to Brian Marshall, Sr., which allowed her to start her family, giving birth to her 2 sons. Cathy was a social butterfly, working as a waitress in Texas at Justin’s Kitchen, doing what she loved—making people laugh and being the life of the party. She continued work at Mill’s Pride and finally, Hickie’s Hamburger Inn, where she created a home for endless sense of humor, thriving around her coworkers and customers. Cathy always had a smile. She had a laugh that filled a room and resonated long after a joke or comment had been made. Some of the jokes and moments still live in our hearts today. She also had an open house, welcoming to all, no matter their life circumstance. She fed those who showed up, she helped people find their way, be it through high school, or wherever there was a need. She made everyone feel present, loved, beautiful, and smart. Cathy loved her boys beyond recognition, in addition to her daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Goddard, and Lottie Belle Goddard, along with a husband, Brian Marshall Sr., and one sister, Sherry Fox. She is survived by her two sons—Brian (Dawn) Marshall Jr., and Randy (Marissa) Marshall, both of New Boston, Ohio; two grandchildren Violet and Mason Marshall; three brothers, Ed (Elke) Goddard, Danny Goddard, and Jason (Alisha) Goddard; one sister-in-law, Carey Goddard; a special friend, Betty Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends alike. A Celebration of her life will be held at 3 PM Friday November 11, 2022 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston. A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 to 3 PM prior to services. Online condolences may be sent to D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME.COM
