Carl Fields

Carl L. Fields, 78, of Wheelersburg died Sunday Feb. 3, 2013 at Best Care Rehab Center. He was born Jan. 31, 1935 in Fielden, KY., a son of the late Benton and Mary Barker Fields. Carl was a member of Wait's Baptist Church, was a 1953 graduate of Portsmouth West High School, was on the Scioto Water Board, a former active member of the Portsmouth Lions Club and served in the Navy Reserve. He is survived by his wife, Loreta Kent Fields of Wheelersburg; 2 sons, Carl Steven Fields and wife Brenda of Latham and Ronald Lee Fields of the Phillipines; 3 sisters, Geneva Denning of West Portsmouth, Delores Shupert of Lucasville and Janet Baker of Wheelersburg; 5 grandchildren, Christopher Fields, Amber Younker, Deidre Gernon, Josh Fields and Anna Marie Fields and 8 great-grandchildren. He ws also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Sue Watson. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday Feb. 6, 2013 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor David Frazie officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday 1 to 2 PM at D. W. SWICK in New Boston. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
