Carl E. Felty

Carl E. Felty, 89, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday May 10, 2024 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.  Carl was born in Portsmouth on May 3, 1935 to the late Nick and Chloe (Rollins) Felty. Carl worked at Detroit Steel in New Boston for 26 years.  After taking early retirement from the mill Carl went back to school and became a real estate agent and an auctioneer.  Later he worked as a paramedic for both Porter Township and Portsmouth Ambulance.  Carl was a past president and Goldstar member of the New Boston Eagles, and was also an auxiliary member of the VFW.  In his spare time Carl was a recreational goat farmer.  He also was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Carl is survived by his wife of 32 years, Wanda Mae (Medley) Felty; three daughters, Lola Ashley and husband Geaorld of Minford, Cheryl Moore and husband Larry of South Shore, KY, and Carrie Snyder and husband Ray of Columbus; four grandchildren, Russell Moore, Ryan Moore, Michael Ashley, and Kylee White; six great grandchildren; four stepsons, Everett Kline of Louisville, KY, Frank Kline of Fort Wayne, IN, Sam Kline of Chillicothe, and Jason Kline of Gallipolis.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Warren and several sisters; a stepson, Tony Kline.
