Age 86 of McDermott, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2015. She was born October 6, 1929 in Oak Hill, a daughter of the late John H. and Blanche (Rawlins) Crace. She had lived in Oak Hill, Jackson, Gerson and South Webster. She graduated from South Webster High School in 1947 with honors and graduated from the Portsmouth Interstate Business College with a Science Degree in 1948 . She was a Charter Member of Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha, Honorary Business Women's Sorority-194. Bonnie was employed at P.I.B.C. as secretary to the Director for one year in 1948 and the Ohio State Employment Office in 1949 and 1950. She was married to the late Thurman J. Harrison on December 24, 1950 in Portsmouth, Ohio. She lived in New Jersey and New York while her husband was in the Army during 1951 and 1952. She worked as a Secretary at Finance Co., Fabric Mills, and Concord Village Apt. Complex. She moved back to Portsmouth in 1952 and was employed at Peter Kiewit Construction and was a member of Goodyear Women's Club.
Her children are John Lee (Linda)Harrison of Gallipolis and Susan Elaine Harrison R. G.; grandchildren, David Jonathan Rice and Emily Ann Rice; two step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-greatgrandchildren; stepson-in-law and daughter, Raymond and Michelle Allard; step-son-inlaw Gary Rice; brothers and sisters, Lonnie, Ted, Jim, Danny and Lou.
Her hobbies were genealogy, needlework, traveling, gardening, collecting music boxes, seashells, crafts and scrap booking. She was a distinguished member of International Society of Poets and was a published author of Poems and Short Stories. She was generous to charities, did deeds of kindness with out seeking recognition, was a loyal friend to many and made many lifetime friendships. She was a good neighbor who did not gossip or speak ill of others. She was a beloved wife of 63 years and, with the help of health care workers, she patiently tended to T.J.'s needs for the last 4 years. After her husband's retirement, they loved traveling in the summer and spending winters in Florida. She was a devoted mother, always "at home" for her children and was a wonderful cook and housekeeper. She was a good and respectful daughter, causing no dishonor to her parents. She was a good sister and always helped her siblings whenever possible.
