Bill W. Vicars, 85, of Lucasville formerly of New Boston, died Mon. March 23, 2009 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born May 30, 1923 in Wheelersburg, a son of the late Charles and Ollie Vicars. He lived many years with his daughter Vicky and grandsons, Adam and Brandon. Bill was an avid hunter and loved stock car races and was best known for his time spent at Walmart visiting with everyone. He is survived by a son, James (Les) Skaggs and wife Deanna of Portsmouth; five daughters, Thelma Crabtree and husband John of Rosemount, Linda Foster of Washington Court House, Kathy Hamilton and husabnd Larry (Steve) of Wheelersburg, Vicky Eldridge of Lucasville, Dee Rickard and husband Gary of Point Pleasant, W.VA.; two brothers, Claude Vicars and Wilford (Junior) Vicars and wife Mary all of Wheelersburg;several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, neices and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Skaggs Vicars; 2 sons, Raymond and Jerry Skaggs; a daughter, Terry Sue Webb; 2 sisters, Lena Greathouse and Mable Smith and 2 brothers, Charles and Harold Vicars. Services will be 2 PM Thursday, March 26, 2009 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastor Gary Rickard officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
