Barry Duane Blackburn

Barry Duane Blackburn, 49, of Gahanna, formerly of New Boston passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 at his home.

He was born May 21, 1964 in Portsmouth, the son of Gary Blackburn, of New Boston and the late Sharon K Blackburn. He was also preceded in death by his Stepmother Heidi Blackburn.

Barry is survived by his wife, Lisa Blackburn, four daughters Kehau Martinez of Las Vegas,NV, Christinie Dougherty of Florida, Sarah Vanessa (Nick) Gruingen , Ft. Benning, GA, Marina Gizelle Dougherty, Florida.

One son Kali Blackburn, Wainia, HI. One brother Nathan (Brandi) Blackburn of New Boston. Two sisters Cheryl Lynn (Jim) Workman, of Lake Tahoe, CA. and Alyssa Renae (Brett) Beverick of Johnstown, Oh.

Four grandchildren Aurora Jade, Cailan, Blayze and Syrus.

Barry grew up as a kid working the Original Blackburn's Market on Gallia Street. He mastered the art of produce by working with his grandpa Frinnie and his dad Gary. Barry worked in the produce departments in Las Vegas, Honolulu, Tucson and was currently working at the Kroger Company in Dublin, Ohio since 2007. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Masonic Lodge.

Barry was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan who looked forward to college football season every year. Barry had a vast knowledge of Ohio State Football that would impress anybody. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the March of Dimes or The American Cancer Society.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Saturday October 5, 2013 at D W SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating, interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at D W Swick Funeral Home in New Boston. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhom.com.
