Barbara F Carver

Barbara Carver, age 87, of Portsmouth, passed away Thursday November 16, 2023 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born November 12, 1936 to the late Russell Sparks and Lexie (Edwards) Sparks. Barbara enjoyed coloring on her ipad, watching and cheering the Braves and Indians, and she loved hummingbirds. Barbara is survived by a son, Doug (Malinda) Carver of Portsmouth, OH; three daughters, Pam (Danny) Stilther of Portsmouth, OH, Angie (Tim) Barnett of Hayesville,NC, and Kathy (Russ) Kalis of Monroe, GA; 9 Grandchildren, Danny Scaggs of Monroe, MI, Ryan Hightower of Portsmouth, OH, Sarah Bowen of Watkinsville, GA, Amy Hightower of Portsmouth, OH, Jayr Kalis of Atlanta, GA, Scott Kalis of Monroe, GA, David Carver of Portsmouth, OH, Alisha Jenkins of Portsmouth, OH, and Aubree Barnett of Hayesville, NC; 13 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Carver; a son Frankie Carver; 2 brothers, Willis Sparks and Bobby Sparks; and a sister, Jo Eckhardt. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 19, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Paster Roy Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Universal Cemetery in Rubyville.
