Arnold "Steve" Stevenson

Arnold "Steve" Stevenson, 96, of New Boston went to be with his Lord on Friday Jan. 24, 2014 at Heartland of Portsmouth. He was born Feb. 16, 1917 in South Shore (Spring Hill) KY. a son of the late Eura and Orpha Lybrook Stevenson. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran, a member of New Life Family Worship Center, was a 1935 graduate of Glenwood High School, a member of Portsmouth AMVETS # 2532, UML UFCW # 400 and Veterans Helping Veterans and others. He was also retired from the former A&P Tea Co. with 32 years service. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Stevenson whom he married on June 26, 1948 and a infant sister, Eva Katherine Stevenson. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Clyde Ratliff; nieces, Brenda Brown and family, Pam Clinger and family; a nephew, Brian and family and several cousins. Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday Jan. 29, 2014 at D.W.SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN NEW BOSTON with Pastor Jason Bailey officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park with Military Honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Tuesday 5 to 8 PM and Wednesday 12 to 1 PM at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
