Anna May Wooten, 72, of Portsmouth, died Wed., Sept. 2, 2009 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1936 in Martinsburg, W.VA., a daughter of the late Lester and Edith Wallen Slick. She was a retired receptionist for Community Action and member of New Life Worship Center and Veterans Helping Veterans. Anna is surviived by her husband, George Wooten; four sons, Herbert E. Poling Jr. and wife Cathy and Garry D. Poling all of Columbus, George J. Poling of Circleville and Jerry L. Poling of New Boston; two daughters, Beverly A. Donaldson and husband Joe of Chillicothe and Samantha K. Stegall and husband Scott of West Portsmouth; a sister, Rosemary Wilfong of Wisconson; two brothers, William Robert Slick of Georgia and Harry Slick of Columbus; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lester Slick and a sister, Marylou Wooten. Services will be 11 AM Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at New Life Worship Center with Pastor Mike Gifford officiating. Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne, OH. Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston and Mon. 10 to 11 AM at the church.
