Anita Sue Pierce

Anita Sue Bartee Martin Pierce, 66, of Portsmouth died Sat., Sept. 4, 2010 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born June 14, 1944 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Harold Bartee and Juanita Garden Hamblin. She was a member of New Boston First Church of the Nazarene and was a former transcriptionist for Southern Ohio Medical Center. Anita is survived by two daughters, Tammy Hall (Eric Raines) of Wheelersburg, Sandy (James) Packard of Sciotoville; two sons, Eric Steve Martin of Portsmouth, Richard Martin of Sabastian, FL. and a stepson, Delbert Pierce Jr. and stepdaughter, Cassandra Pierce both of Littleton, W.VA.; 9 grandchildren, Caleb, Dakota, Christian, Rikki, Maeghan, Robbie, Alisha, Ashley and Raven and 6 great grandchildren. Anita loved her special friends, the "Steel Magnolias", Sandy, Debbie, Michelle, Jan and Bonnie. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Delbert Pierce Sr., a daughter, D'Nita Rochelle Martin and the aunt and uncle who raised her, Elmer and Inez Church. Services will be 1:00 PM Thurs., Sept. 9, 2010 at New Boston First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. James Patrick officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM Wednesday Sept. 8, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston and one hour before services on Thursday at the church.
